Website: Now to compare the website's look, feel, and use. As a web purchaser, I like a website that is clean (no advertisements) and easy to use (straightforward). After looking at both website's and comparing the research, ease in use, payment, and the websites look and feel I have come up with the following: Freeiva's website upon my initial arrival is not very well organized. I'm not directed to what they offer and I'm shown many pictures. Upon reviewing the payment system I realize that it requires membership or you must post your project and have the interpreters contact you. so that you can sort through which are the good one's and which aren't good enough. This is a good system for someone you has time to do interviews and research. I would also recommend talking on the phone. Upon checkout you have a choice of Paypal or Western Union, I chose Paypal and press continue, you are brought to a page where you are told that you will be charged an additional processing fee!!! To be honest I am not one of those guys to just accept "extra fee's" and close the window. Passway's website was quite a surprise to be honest. The manager is a Canadian and the website is quite neat and well organized; with the tabs to your left supplying everything you need. After reading about the company and its research you simply go to the "Order Service" tab to the left and fill in the form. You then confirm the amount and are taken to a checkout page which contains the options pay with Paypal or Mastercard/ Visa. No extra, fees, no hidden costs, no membership requirements. Rates: Freeiva, a well established company claims to offer interpreters for as low as $40 per day. However, after more research into this I've found that this is untrue. The REAL prices are actually much higher at $88 a day for a travel interpreter and $108 a day for a business interpreter! This makes me very uncomfortable to begin with because the $40 cannot even be seen in there "Rates" page. Passway, also a well established company, claims to offer interpreters for as low as $49 per day.and this is true. The prices according there "Rates" page are $49 for travel interpreters and $69 a day for a business interpreter. Interpreter Freeiva Passway Travel (per day) $88 $49 Business (per day) $108 $69 Freeiva's prices are almost double, that of Passway's.
Overall, I found Passway to be the better choice. A well organized website, system of payment, and no hidden costs or requirements. Plus the rates are much lower! But don't let me be the judge.
